Welkom bij City Wageningen ... Welcome in The wageningen city !

Dear noters,

Startly...

Ehm ... Placid, mild and peaceful are the three words that can describe how I feel when I arrived in Wageningen city. Currently I have much to be thousands of miles from my hometown and I am not aware of it. When the morning I woke up and I just realized that I was alone in this place.

Welkom bij Schipol - Ede - City Wageningen ...

Wageningen is a municipality (Kotamadya...red) that is part of the province of Gelderland. Is famous for It Wageningen University, Which specializes in life sciences. Is the Dutch Food Valley food & nutrition clusters concentrated around WUR and comprising many Institutes, companies and state of the art facilities in the food & nutrition field. Food Valley is regarded as the Largest Food & Nutrition Research & Development cluster in the world. Can Wageningen be reached by car from Highways A12, A15 and A50, (the price of ticket is 14 euro) and from railroad station Ede-Wageningen Nowhere a 15 minute bus drive connects to the central bus station in the town center. (keep on mind the number of bus is 88). previously we had to buy a ticket for 7.6 euros for 15 trips. From Ede-Wageningen three trips to be used...

We arrived at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam at 7:45 pm on August 20, 2010. We are the second group of Indonesian students who were lucky to get a scholarship from the Dutch Government. We numbered as many as nine people. Mr Yuyu and Mr Made have to pick up us at the airport because this is the first arrival times in Dutch. Mr Yuyu is chairman of PPI Wageningen. Friends of the PPI Wageningen excellent and welcomed us with lunch at Mr Aan's Room (Bornsesteeg floor 20). Yummy ... I am very happy to be able to enjoy rice, noodles, tempe goreng, chicken soup and others (GRATES haha). Thank you to my friends from PPI Wageningen.

Welkom bij Bornsesteeg - Forum Bulding WUR and HVW hotel ...

After lunch, we were went to the Forum Building at the University of Wageningen. For a while, all the bags were placed in the Mr. Yuyu's room. After initial registration we were escorted to our residence. Some friends have obtained permanent residence, but some of us must occupy the temporary residence in The Brink Residence Hotel and The Hof Van Wageningen Hotel. I am lucky because staying in a hotel while HVG. It is very comfortable and all existing facilities. But we can not cook and had to pay 2 euros each to use the washing machine. (In another case at the Brink is a free residence for laundry). But we are still grateful to get a single room and free Wi-fi. Wi-fi and the Internet networks in the netherlands is very fast. I can download everything that I want quickly hahha ... (In Indonesia where we should spend a lot of time to download something...)

Hunting AID ... but ...

August 20, 2010 is the first register for an event AID 2010 (Annual International Day). A welcoming ceremony and introduction for new students. In Wageningen there are about 150 nationalities who come from all over the world to continue their studies. Having arrived at the temporary residence, we immediately headed back to the Forum Building for registration AID. It was after 17:00 and we had to use 88 buses to get to the Forum Building. Fiuhh ... Registration has been closed and we recommended to the building Alle 406 to register AID . We returned to find 406 buildings Alle and finally we can register AID. I am a bit disappointed because we were placed in one group because all the groups have been full. Whereas the purpose involved in the AID is to learn English and communicate with each other. It's seems useless if we as a group from Indonesia. Finally, we decided to be absent in AID although we've got the bag, t-shirts and all the brochures hehehe ....

Spent a time with to know Wageningen closer ...

All people riding bicycles. remembered the story of the Yogyakarta. There is no pollution, no traffic jams and all running well. Pedestrians and cyclists have a special place. We just need to press the yellow button on the traffic light pole and they will give us the opportunity to cross the street. It is a bit different is when we are walking and riding bicycles are to be on the right. Hehehe ... I often almost hit by a bike! wakaka...braaaakkkkkkkk.....

Everyone here is very friendly and they can speak English. so I never bring a map hahahha .... I just asked and they explained very well. (Notes : Malu bertanya sesat di belanda .... hahaha ). The weather here is cold and windy. Though the current season is summer. Luckily I brought a lot of drugs "REJECT THE WIND alias TOLAK ANGIN" hehe ... I always wear a jacket wherever I go, including to the toilet hahaha ...

Here i am ... and hopefully everything gonna be finish on time !! see u in another pages !!!

God zegene ons ...
